WHO WE ARE About Us The Harvest Institute was founded in 1999 with a vision of bringing International students to the USA and teaching them the American language, culture and history through immersion. We have successfully brought students from over 50 countries to our many campuses spread through the Northeast of the United States. Providing excellent education, the Harvest Institute became internationally recognized and a standard for ESL education in the United States and abroad. We currently teach English as a second language, TOEFL preparation and TESOL certification to people who are engaging in the dream of teaching around the world. The Institute has been a consulting firm for major publishing houses such as Longan and McGraw Hill publishing companies, to test and evaluate their ESL material even before it is published. Recognized on national TV and with hundreds of articles the Institute is a jewel in the ESL Industry. Our vision is to train excellent people to become teacher and meet the huge worldwide demand for qualified English Teachers. Because of our experience we have compiled the most amazing teaching techniques, approaches and methodology, and we have transferred it successfully to our newest adventurers. We count with the Direction of the founder Mr. Jerry Docarmo who’s experience working abroad spreads to the four corners of the world in places such as Iceland, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, England, China, France and many more. The Master instructor Ms. Jana Opacic who is a graduate of the world famous Montenegro University in English and American literature has been the Director of Education and Master Teacher trainer for the Harvest Institute for the past five years. Why we began the Harvest TESOL Institute Many years ago we noticed the trend of the world’s economy and globalization, demand for the English language in trade and commerce. New countries rising and others following, and our own students demanding a program that would take them back to their countries qualified to teach the English Language after they had completed ESL training and past the TOEFL test. In 2001 we decided to design something different and effective with clear differences from the usual programs. We started teaching our courses and have in a few years trained hundreds of “Global Teachers”. Our program goes beyond the teaching techniques, beyond class preparation, it prepares the new as well as the experienced and well seasoned professional to effortlessly find a job, prepare an amazing and desirable resume, offering a lifetime of job support, education, and the most important “Practicum free of charge”. “Where does your vision take you today?
