Housing

The Harvest Institute offers 3 types of Housing to students who come to the US to study English:

Option 1 – Home Stay: Selected families host our international students providing them with a family like environment. The school inspects the housing and carefully screens all of the host families prior to the arrival of the student.Families that welcome our students may or may not offer meals, it all depends on the arrangements prior to the student’s arrival.

*Approximate price: From $150 to $250.00 per week

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 2 – YMCA (hostel): Some of our students enjoy their stay at the “Y” club like environment which provides, private room with fridge and TV but the bathroom is shared with other students. The facilities include a gym and pool for the student’s use. This particular YMCA, hosts other students from Rutgers University and Essex County College. It is next door to the NJPAC “New Jersey Performance Center” and two blocks from transportation to NY City and the Bears stadium.

*Approximate price: $550.00 per month

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 3 – Apartment share: This option is for students that come for an academic year or at least 6 months. Apartments are shared between students locally. These apartments are more private, usually providing the student with their own room and bath. Sometimes accessories are up to the students to buy, such as bedsheets, towels, etc. Apartments have furnished kitchens, living rooms and sometimes dinning rooms.

*Approximate price: $600.00 to $1,000.00 per month

* Prices vary according to season and availability. Please, consult the school as early as possible for more accurate pricing.

** Housing is a service provided by the Harvest Institute and it is not part of the program. It is meant to facilitate accommodations and cannot be guaranteed. Students are encouraged to use this service for better selection and security but are free to find their own accommodations. Student should fill out the Housing application and file it with the school at least 30 days prior to arrival. Summer months are the busiest and should be reserved with more vigilance.
